Ash Buttery signs for the boatmen. Ash is a right-back with higher-tier experience over the years in non-league and teams such as Solihull Moors and Alvechurch on his CV.
With Reece Sugars moving on last week myself and Ralphy were on the lookout for a replacement to meet the criteria and standards that we have implemented into our squad. That being said the opportunity came around for us to sign Ash a few days ago after having a good lengthy conversation with him about his football.
I have known Ash for over 15 years. Ash came through the ranks at West Brom in his youth days before entering the non-league scene with Solihull Moors. Ash has always been a stand-out player with bags of talent. He’s tall, fast, strong, good in the air and has a great footballing brain. Playing against him is always tough as he’s a player that always gives you 100% on the pitch. Ash has been away from football for the last 2 or so seasons but he’s ready to kick on again and come back to the game.
Ash made his debut for us on Saturday away to Radford FC in the starting 11 which isn’t an easy debut. He was fantastic and really fitted straight into our back line also getting himself a great assist for our first goal helping the team secure a great 4-1 victory!
Everyone at the club would like to say a huge welcome to Ash and wish him all the best in his journey with us!
Up The Boatmen!
