Full Circle: Keiran Wells Returns Home to Dunkirk
The project Dunkirk has going on here excites me and ultimately made my decision to ‘come home.
Dunkirk FC is thrilled to announce the return of Keiran Wells after more than a decade away from the club. The experienced striker, who last donned a Dunkirk shirt 10-13 years ago, brings with him a wealth of experience and character that promises to make a significant impact both on and off the pitch.
Speaking about his return, Keiran shared his excitement:
“Firstly, I want to say how happy I am to be coming back to Dunkirk. It’s been around 10-13 years since I last put on a Dunkirk shirt, and it’s been a hell of a ride since then. Going from Dunkirk to step 3 football is something I’m incredibly proud of. Now, I’m at an age where I can share the experiences I’ve learned over the years.
“I know Head Coach Jack from our Stamford days, and I’m looking forward to linking up with him again. The project Dunkirk has going on here excites me and ultimately made my decision to ‘come home.’
“I’m currently recovering from an injury—a freak accident involving my son’s toy (beware of Lego, it’s no joke!)—but I’m expecting to be fully fit in about two weeks. Once again, thank you for the opportunity to grace the Dunkirk pitch. I’ll see you all soon!”
Keiran’s return is a testament to the exciting project underway at Dunkirk FC, something both Sam (manager) and Jack (head coach) echoed in their statements.
Sam shared his thoughts on the signing:
“As soon as I heard Kieran was available, I jumped at the chance to speak to him about the plans we have for the season and beyond. Keiran is a real character who has great experience in non-league football. If we can get the best out of him, he’ll certainly be a great addition to our squad.
“I’ve known Kieran for a couple of years now through charity games for AC Wollaton. Welcome back to Dunkirk, mate. #UTBM!”
For the Jack, the return of Keiran Wells speaks volumes about the club’s ambitions:
“This signing reflects the standards we are implementing into the squad at Dunkirk FC. I’ve known Kieran for a while, from competing against him in the league’s top scorer chart to having the pleasure of being strike partners at Stamford.
“Keiran is a well-proven and respected goalscorer at the highest levels of non-league football. When the opportunity to sign him came up, the management team grasped it with both hands. We know the standard of experience, character, and talent he will add to the squad.
“Keiran has always been a huge threat for teams in front of goal, with a history at clubs like Hednesford, Stalybridge Celtic, and Ilkeston. He fits perfectly into our plans at Dunkirk. His ‘lively and loud’ personality will undoubtedly be a huge boost in the dressing room and on the pitch.
