Friday night football is back!
Following on from AFC Dunkirk’s deserved victory at FC Cavaliers last week the team went in to this game full of confidence. FC Sez, a young and vibrant side sitting in bottom position however history suggests they are a good footballing side who can pose a threat.
Limited changes to the starting line up, with Scott Abbey and Isaac Osagede stepping out of the first 11 being replaced by Captain Troy Pitkin and returning first team player Ben Rafferty. Two players who have been sidelined for several weeks so great news to have them back on the pitch.
The game started brightly for AFC Dunkirk, with Jake Fitch showing his electric pace and tricky feet on the left wing, cutting inside of the box and earning himself a penalty. Which he duly slotted home to the keepers right.
As the half progressed, a few half chances emerged for both sides, with high-energy football being played in the most part. FC Sez grew some confidence throughout the half, however it was Machin’s clinical finishing to the left of the box, a well taken finesse shot curled to the right corner on 38 minutes which was a big blow to the home team.
